As I sit here in business class on our Boeing 777 flight from Dallas/Ft Worth to Miami having my Amaretto on the rocks after a nice lasagna dinner, I thought I would do some writing about today’s adventure.
Over night last night we had about 3 inches of snow so I was out shoveling the drive way at 6am. We departed for the Durango airport at 8am and had plenty of time to get checked in with our 4 large pieces of luggage and through security with an hour to spare. Unfortunately, our flight was almost an hour late departing.
We still made it to the DFW airport and was at our gate for Miami flight with an hour to spare. But again, our flight was delayed an hour due to aircraft maintenance. We will now be arriving Miami at 7:15pm. BUT, at least we will be arriving today!! Now just hoping our checked luggage will also be arriving same time we do!!
I still got a lot done today even though traveling thanks to Fidelity Investments. Had my 2017 IRA distribution and then wired money to payoff our mortgage on new house in Durango. Now we will not have to make any mortgage payments as paid it off prior to first payment due. Hooray!! Also set up our private car pickup with Regent for tomorrow at noon to be transferred to the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, FL. That is where Regent is lodging all full World Cruise guests for night prior to cruise on Thursday.
Good news was all our luggage made it to Miami. Bad news is, it took over an hour for the Doubletree Hotel to come pick us up. Not a happy “Hilton Diamond Member”! Anyway, it is 9pm and just happy to be here in Miami.
Regent is sending a limo at noon tomorrow to take us to Biltmore Hotel. Planning on going to Costco and Ulta to get some “supplies” tomorrow morning. Our friends, Mario & Josee, may be dropping by tomorrow also.
