Well, we will have a white New Year's Eve as started snowing at 11am and ground white now at noon. Rebecca and I want to wish all my blog followers a very happy and safe 2017. To that end I chickened out on our travel plans to get from here to Miami. We were going to rent a car and drive to Albuquerque on Tuesday so as to catch a 5am flight next morning. Weather can make road between here and ABQ dicey. So called American Airlines this morning and changed the travel plan.
Now, on Tuesday morning, we will catch flight from DRO (that's Durango's airport) on American Eagle to DFW where we will connect on a B-777 flight to Miami, arriving that same evening. So will spend night of 3rd in the airport Hampton Inn before transferring to the Biltmore Hotel next day. Regent is putting all full world cruse folks up there that night and will host a Gala cocktail and dinner party in the evening.
We got the last two first class seats on the Durango to DFW flight. It was an additional 60,000 AAdvantage miles to make the change but worth it. That Albuquerque flight was 5am meaning a 2:30 am get up. The DRO flight is more civilized as departing at 10:19 am.
We will be spending New Year's Eve here in our new home. We had a very nice dinner last night in town at our favorite place, Mutu's Italian. I am preparing my favorite entree this evening--beef stroganoff.
Ok, the next post will be in January obviously. So to see the December posts you will have to use the "blog archive" on right side just above the picture of Rebecca and I. You will need to click on "December" to see those 3 posts. Same thing will happen when we go from January to February and so on.
By the way, clicking on the blog photos will enlarge them and I recommend doing it.
