This was our position at noon time today. The outside temperature was 64F and the wind was 25 to 30 knots out of the southwest. Our ship's speed was 15 knots. The wind is causing waves of 15 feet and there is a long swell with another 15 foot wave height. There is light rain and drizzle reducing visibility. The swell and wind is causing us to tossed about pretty good but we experienced worse during our crossing of the Pacific when on our 2010 world cruise. During his noon PA announcement the Captain thought the sea conditions may improve some this evening. Hope so!!
As I said on Face Book this morning, "Yeeee Haw! Ride'm Navigator". The Pacific Ocean has been very nasty ever since we left San Diego yesterday evening. We are pitching up, down, sideways, and at times, cork screwing. In addition to having a half of a patch behind my ear I am wearing wrist bands which I call "practicing safe cruising". So far we both are doing ok.
We decided not to attend the interdenominational church service this morning due to the weather. Instead we decided to stay put in the safety of our suite and watch a movie, "Anthrotoid". It was about the Czechoslovakia underground fighting the German occupiers during WWII.
After getting cleaned up we enjoyed lunch in Compass Rose with Susanne. We saw some more friends who just boarded yesterday, Hank & Sandra. I enjoyed a very nice seafood bouillabaisse while Rebecca had a Caesar salad with grilled shrimp.
Michael, the Executive Chef came by our table so I mentioned how much I liked my veal parm up in Sette Mari last night. He said he personally came up and prepared it for me. I told him it was perfect and just as I like it. The green on the veal below is a big basil leaf.
I asked the chef to prepare soft shell crabs as an entree for us tomorrow evening. You remember we had one as an appetizer two nights ago. I told him we did not care for the tempura method so he will marinate it, dip in flour, and fry crispy for tomorrow. We also requested a salad consisting of: avocado, hearts of palm, artichokes, and cherry tomatoes in green goddess dressing.
Veal osso bucco is on tonight's menu and we are really looking forward to that. It was really good first time we had it.
