This morning was disembarkation day for approximately 125 passengers and that same number will be boarding this afternoon. Several crew members also left on vacation so we will have new ones arriving. Originally, they said everyone would have to get off and clear US Customs this morning but this morning we were advised that had been cancelled.
After breakfast Rebecca and I did get off the ship to go shopping. Rebecca wanted to go to a Sally's Beauty Supply and a CVS Pharmacy right next to it about 5 miles from the port. We used Uber for the first time. It only took 5 minutes for one to show up. On the ride up to Sally's the driver said we would probably not be able to use Uber to get back. There is a women's march in downtown and there would not be many drivers working today. She said she would just turn off her computer, wait for us, then return us to the ship. The fare up was $6.45 so I gave her $20 to bring us back because she was so nice to wait on us.
We were back on board by 10:00 am with all the "stuff" Rebecca needed. She did not go to see the ship's doctor yesterday evening. She again had a hard time breathing last night and was using nose spray all night long. I am a light sleeper so was awake too. Hopefully we got some meds to help her breathe until over the cold.
The weather is better today but there are still some little showers passing over. We were back on ship before this started. After lunch I went back off the ship for a walk downtown. Susanne wanted some Tootsie Rolls and I wanted to get a small gift for a crew member's, newborn son. Kadek will be leaving the ship in Hawaii and going home to see his new son. We will be sailing at 6:00 this evening and there will be another life boat safety drill at 5:15 for all passengers.
Tonight I believe we will be dining up in Sette Mari and having some veal parmesan. There is no show again tonight, just a movie being shown in the theater.
We have been told to expect a couple days of rough seas on our 5 day trip across the Pacific to Honolulu. Our internet is not working. Works for all the passengers that just came on but not for those of us who have been here. Weird!! I can't post this until they fix it. They better get it fixed soon. Finally fixed at 5pm. Just in time for the life boat drill.
WHAT WE DID LAST NIGHT:
This is the soft shell crab I ordered for our appetizer. It was not prepared the way I wanted as was tempura style. I wanted it breaded and then fried. So will be more specific next time I order it.
This is my dessert. It is a hazelnut cake covered with chocolate.
