Our position at noon today is rocking and rolling in the Atlantic Ocean. The sky is sunny and temp outside is 68F.
BACKGROUND INFO: HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO
Cinco de Mayo (May 5th) is NOT the Mexico's Independence Day. It is the celebration of the Mexican army's unlikely victory of the French forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. In the US the date has become associated with the celebration of Mexican-American culture. I guess it is good time for margaritas and maybe some good Mexican food.
WHAT WE DID TODAY:
Rebecca got up at 7:45 for her 8:00 breakfast from room service. I did not get up until after 9:00. No working out today because it would be impossible to stay on the treadmill. We are experiencing swells of 15 feet. A low pressure area and strong winds are causing the ship to pitch and roll some and at noon the Captain said we can expect this to continue throughout tomorrow and maybe longer.
This afternoon it is overcast, windy (50 mph) , and the ship is really rocking now. We watched the movie "Founder" with Tom Hanks. It is suppose to be true story about how McDonalds was founded. We found it very interesting.
This evening we are having dinner with the Begg's and Bobby in Compass Rose. I have requested Chef Michael make us a special Mexican dinner tonight. I suppose margaritas are in order for cocktail hour this evening too.
Tonight's headliner show at 9:30 is featuring the comedian, Yacov Smirnoff. He has been in movies, done tv shows, and played at his own theater in Branson, MO, from 1993 to 2015.
Tonight we begin the almost daily task of moving our clocks back an hour so we will be on East Coast time on the 13th when we arrive back in Miami. Tomorrow we will still be 5 hours ahead of Central Time.
