DAY 97-SAFAGA, EGYPT--DAY 2

PETRA PHOTOS:
This morning I finally got the photos I took two days ago when in Petra, Jordan, uploaded.  So here is the link to them.

WHAT WE DID TODAY:
I woke up at 5:00 am not feeling very good due to my head cold.  Stopped up nose, coughing, and sneezing so glad I cancelled my scheduled 12 hour tour for today.  Here is a link to some photos we took back in 2013 that are similar to what I was to be seeing again today.  They are very interesting.  "Karnak & Luxor Temple"

Rebecca scared me, and I think everyone else in Prime 7, last night.  She got something lodged in her throat that was not coming out.  This lasted several minutes with me beating her on the back.  The maitre'd and waiter were there to help and asked me if we needed to call medical.  Things were not getting better so I said "yes".  Shortly after that she recovered.  Nurse was at door by then but said we did not need her now.  Douglas, the manager of all restaurants, also came up.  I found out this morning that Davor, the ship's General Manager, was also called as he asked me how Rebecca was doing this morning.  We did not get to finish our dinner last night so I'm hungry now.  I did have them send my popcorn sundae to me via room service.
I am getting my hair cut this morning and Rebecca getting hers cut at 2:00 this afternoon.  Mine costs $39 and hers cost twice as much.  What's that about???
Not sure whether we will dine down in Compass Rose or up in Sette Mari tonight.  They are having an Italian buffet up in Sette Mari tonight.  Compass Rose menu is ok too.  Today's tours will not be getting back to the ship until around 7:00 pm as they are all 12 to 13 hours long.  No headliner show again.
Here are some photos I took yesterday when we took the shuttle to a shopping area.
                              Sailing into Safaga
                                Desert as we sail in
                               This is our pier
Unfortunately, the front part of our ship will be next to this.  It is where they load aluminum ore on ships
Egyptian dignitaries to meet the ship

                               Tour buses lines up
                              View from our balcony.
Heading for the shuttle bus.

Machine gun mounted on this truck along the road.
This is where the shuttle dropped us.  Small souvenir shops.
Where we bought some antibiotics and other drugs.  It was a very small pharmacy.

Had to throw in a mosque.

We will be sailing again tonight at midnight.  Sea day tomorrow before transiting the Suez Canal on Saturday.
