HE IS RISEN!!
HAPPY EASTER SUNDAY
Temperature here today is barely over 70F.Well, here we are again Haifa. Not sure why as is 2 ½ hours drive north of Jerusalem. Just adds time to all the tours. We spent three days here back in 2013 with two days docked here and one day docked in Ashdod. Glad we could come back as the religious sites here as it brings the Bible to life in all we have learned over the years from it.
One thing about Israel never changes--super security!! As last time, Israeli immigration/security came on the ship and personally interviewed each passenger and checked passports prior to being allowed ashore. As we left the ship they also thoroughly inspected backpacks, purses, or any other kind of bag we took ashore. For the next two days we have to carry a stamped “landing permit” with us. After the immigration we returned on board and enjoyed breakfast with our friend, Susanne, in Compass Rose. Caviar on Sundays!!
When I originally booked the tour for today, I booked the exact same tour we did back in 2013 which was a 13 hour tour of Jerusalem and Bethlehem. In July as I was doing some research and pre--writing on this blog, I changed my mind. Thirteen hours is a LONG day, too long. So I switched it to a 10 hour tour instead, “Jerusalem Old City”. It is basically same one as before except not going to Bethlehem this time. 2013 photo link will be attached so you can still see it. I also switched this tour to the second day, tomorrow. The tour I had booked for today was actually cancelled by Regent. I booked a second tour for today and it was also cancelled by Regent so I gave up. We are staying on the ship today. I may walk into Haifa after finishing this blog however.
The ship's internet has been down all morning. The internet manager said that the Israeli's were blocking internet for our ship and the NCL cruise ship docked in front of us. I went into the cruise terminal with my laptop but could not received a signal there either. At 2:00 pm I was walking off the ship with laptop in my backpack to go downtown to find some internet. The reception desk guy told me the ship's internet was working again so here I am back in the suite writing as fast as I can.
Ok, I got the captions added to photo link from 2013 so here is the link to my photos taken then of Old Jerusalem and Bethlehem.

Last night we enjoyed our dinner up in Sette Mari. I had some excellent cioppino and Rebecca had chicken thighs in white wine sauce over polenta. Last night's show featuring Peter Cutler was excellent.
I called these guys the "Bali Mafia" as they are all wine stewards on board and are from Bali.L to R--Budi, Wayan, & Nyoman. Budi and Nyoman are actually wine sommeliers.
This evening we enjoying our Easter dinner in Compass Rose with our friend, Susanne. No show tonight as there are lots of very long tours going out early tomorrow morning including mine. I am again going to Old Jerusalem.
