Our position at 1:00 pm today (Friday). As you can see, we are now in the Gulf of Aden which has been an area for Somali piracy in the past few years. As you read in yesterday's post you know our ship is taking appropriate measures to protect us in the highly unlikely event we are targeted. Our ship will again be "blacked out" tonight with all curtains pulled and outer lights off. Outer decks will be closed for passenger use from sunset to sunrise.
We passed through the Gulf of Aden in 2013 also and had similar procedures and precautions in case of a pirate attack. These dummies are something new though. Note the fire hose. Water cannons would be used to repel any potential unwanted boarders. This is on midship of deck 6 where the lifeboats would be lowered to if needed for boarding. Our suite is located on the same deck but forward where there is no outer walk way.
Hallelujah!!!!! We finally have a President with some "cojones". (google it if you don't know what I mean) Obama drew a red line in sand if the Syrian government used poison gas weapons and when they did, he stuck his head in the sand. Now once again the United States we have a world leader in the Oval Office. I never again want to see pictures of gassed women and children. I think even my liberal friends will agree. The liberal, "drive by" media, has been painting Putin and Trump as being buddy buddies. Guess NOT!!!
That said, we will be arriving in Israel on Easter Sunday and will be there for two days. The distance from Jerusalem to Damascus, Syria, is 136 miles. We watch Fox News channel daily and will be keeping an eye on events even more closely during next several days prior to our arrival. I'm sure Regent is too! I have full faith in Israeli security. They do NOT mess around.
WHAT WE DID TODAY:
Another smooth and relaxing day at sea. Again we are pretty much hibernating in our suite. We did go up and workout and then went up to the pool deck grill to get hamburgers for our lunch today. We brought them back to our suite to eat however. Trying to stay away from the coughing stuff going around the ship.
As soon as I publish this post I will go out on our balcony to continue reading "Killing Patton". It is very pleasant out there.
We have a 7:00 pm reservation up in Prime 7 for dinner tonight. We want to go see the headliner show after dinner. It is a young group of four (two guys-tenors and 2 females-sopranos) from the UK I believe. They sing songs from classical to pop music.
Tomorrow is another day at sea.
