DAY 42-CRUISING THE SOUTH PACIFIC

Our position at noon today.  (yellow arrow in red circle)  I missed getting the temperature during the Captain's noon PA but it is getting cooler.  High temperature forecast for tomorrow in Bay of Islands is to be 75F.

Photos from yesterday's galley buffet.  They had to food set up in the galley so we got to see where our food was prepared.  I find it amazing that they can prepare and serve so much food from a galley that is not huge.

                                          Chocolate fountain

Prosciutto ham and other cold cuts.

                                                 Roast beef

LAST NIGHT:
We enjoyed dinner last night in Compass Rose restaurant with Roger & Meredith Parsons and their son, Jeffrey.  Jeffrey lives in NYC and the Parsons live in South Carolina.

WHAT WE DID TODAY:
Rebecca woke up at 4:30 am coughing.  Cough medicine did not help so neither of us slept much after that.  Just hope she did not disturb our neighbors too.  She got up at 8:00 when room service arrived but I stayed in bed until 11:00.
I called my mother as today is her birthday.  It was 4:30 pm Thursday there in southern Illinois but 11:30 am Friday here.
The ship has lots of activities scheduled for today since we are at sea but we are just going to relax in the suite.  I am trying to rest my neck as much as possible.  It is not getting any better. Unfortunate to be on such a wonderful cruise with both of us feeling bad.
Tonight is formal optional dress night as is the Captain's Farewell Reception.  One of our favorite dinner entrees is on the menu-Beef Wellington.  Yummy!  We got new entertainers when in Fiji.  The comedian last night was from St Louis.  I thought he was pretty good but not great.  Tonight's entertainer is a singer from Australia, Beven Addinsall.  We are looking forward to his show.

Tomorrow we will be in New Zealand, and to be more specific, the Bay of Islands.  We have never been to NZ before so this is the main reason we booked this cruise.  We'll spend 8 days visiting different ports on the North and South islands.  Hoping for good weather so I can try to capture the beauty of NZ with my camera.
