Our position at noon today. Leaving the Society Islands and Bora Bora behind and heading for Pago Pago, America Samoa. Smooth sailing every since leaving Bora Bora last evening. It is mostly cloudy today with temperature of 84 degrees and humid as usual. The wave height today is 7 feet, so as I said, a good ride.
Here are a few parting shots of Bora Bora as we departed yesterday evening. Love the place!!
WHAT WE DID LAST NIGHT:
We enjoyed dinner in Compass Rose with Susanne then went to see Brandi Chapman's show. Her show was the best one yet on our cruise so far. Very high energy show with over 30 songs from Broadway to Motown to Country to Pop that would please any audience. We talked to her after the show and she was exhausted. She will be doing one more show prior to leaving us in Fiji next week.
WHAT WE DID TODAY:
Rebecca's cold or whatever has not gone into her chest and she had to use some saline nasal spray a few times last night to help open her nose up. So I laid awake a couple hours worrying about her. She does fine during the day at least. My neck has been hurting more as the say goes on and was more pain than usual last night in lounge pre-dinner and during dinner. So this morning I went back to see Dr Milo. She put me on another medication and feels I have a pinched nerve causing my problems. Guess time will maybe heal the nerve so the med is to make me more comfortable. I will not exercise today and plan on lying down this afternoon after finishing this posting.
We had a nice lunch in Compass Rose at noon with Susanne. Rebecca had a Caesar salad with chicken and I had one with grilled salmon (medium rare). Excellent!!
This evening we will be having cocktails up in Galileo Lounge then dinner down in Compass Rose. Joining us for both with be Brandi, Susanne, and Mary. Chef Michael is preparing miso sea bass especially for the five of us. It is one of Brandi's favorites, as well as ours, so asked for it. YUMMY!!
We plan on going to see the headliner entertainer after dinner. The show features Bob Arno who is a professional pickpocket. That's right!! His bio says he uses comedy to reveals some sly tricks of pickpocketing. This should be an interesting show.
Tomorrow we will be at sea again before arriving in Pago Pago on Saturday morning. Ok, will post this and go lie down.
I went to the pastry chef's demonstration this morning on how to make a Black Forest cake. Not sure why as I do not care for that cake. Did not know what he would be making before I showed up. Pascal is from France and the breads and pastries on board are all delicious.
Not the Black Forest cake, of course, but just a cake to decorate his cooking table.
His finished product, Black Forest cake.
MEET THE CREW:
This is Marissa and she is from the Philippines. During the day she works in the Coffee Connection keeping the small buffet stocked with foods and waiting on people wanting lattes and coffee drinks. At night she is a waitress down in Compass Rose. Her boyfriend is also a waiter there. She is 31 years old and this is her first contract (8 month contract) with Regent. Prior to being hired by Regent she worked 8 years in Dubai at a Le Meridian Hotel. She said she is working to put her 3 sisters through the university. She has two years at university but said she could not afford to finish school. So now she works so her sisters can get an education. I thought this was very cool. She usually only enjoys one month a year of vacation back in the Philippines where she likes just being with family and friends.
This is Rizza and she is also from the Philippines. During the day she works at the ice cream bar on the pool deck and at night she is a waitress in Sette Mari, the Italian restaurant. She is 27 years old and single but does have a boyfriend now. This is also her first contract with Regent. Prior to being hired by Regent she worked 2 years at a Wyndham Hotel in Qatar and 3 years in a hotel in Shangri La. Her hobby is playing the guitar.
